“On the trail of the glaciers” at the Dolomite Film Festival, Thursday 27 May .

“On the trail of the glaciers” will be the protagonist of the live streaming event of the first evening of the Dolomite Film Festival, a film festival dedicated to nature, the environment and the mountains, with the screening of the documentary “Mission to Alaska”, on Thursday 27 May at 8.30 p.m.

The melting of the glaciers is one of the most evident alarm bells of the climate change and that’s why the photographic-scientific project “On the trail of the glaciers” has been visiting the most important mountain glaciers of the Earth for more than 12 years, with the aim to disclose the effects of the climate changes thanks to the observation of the variation of the glacial masses in the last 150 years.

After the screening of the documentary “On the trail of the glaciers – Mission to Alaska”, a preview of some images of the “Mission to Alps” project will be presented.

The guests of the evening will be Fabiano Ventura, creator of the project “On the trail of the glaciers”, Aurelio Soraruf, owner of the Castiglioni refuge, Carlo Budel, manager of Capanna Punta Penia and Professor Mauro Varotto, Professor of Geography at the University of Padova, to analyse the consequences of climate change affecting our mountains.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday 27 May at 20.30 (Italian time).
