Ice: the tale of change. Photography, semiotics and science to communicate climate

On Tuesday 13 June, at 13:00, the webinar “Ice: the tale of change – Photography, semiotics and science to communicate climate” will be held.

The initiative, organised in collaboration between the CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change and Ca’ Foscari University Venice, is part of the webinar series “Foresight Dialogues” in which writers, artists, journalists, scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs discuss the role of communication, in its various forms, in accelerating the climate transition. The event is part of the CMCC Climate Change Communication Award “Rebecca Ballestra” initiative and the Ca’ Foscari Research Communication Week 2023.

The speakers taking part in the webinar will be Carlo Barbante, director of the CNR Institute of Polar Sciences and full professor at Ca’ Foscari University Venice; Valeria Burgio, postdoctoral researcher at Ca’ Foscari University Venice; Fabiano Ventura, director of the project “On the Trail of the Glaciers”, landscape photographer and president of the Macromicro Association.

The meeting will be moderated by Mauro Buonocore, Head of Communication at CMCC.

The event will take place on the Zoom platform and will be conducted in Italian.
